Rev. Terrence Nichols, President

Terrence Nichols was born in the small Southwest Georgia town of Pelham.  There he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Madeline Nichols. The Lord has blessed the couple with two lovely daughters, Jessica (11) and Chelsea (9).  He is the son of Mrs. Alice Nichols-Elzia and the step son of Rev. Robert N. Elzia of Albany, Georgia.

Terrence began preaching at the early age of 15 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pelham.  He often states he received a lot of criticism for declaring that he was called to preach at such a young age, but he had a burning passion to communicate hope to people.   The results of his obedience touched the lives of so many especially the youth throughout Georgia, Alabama and Florida during those early years of ministry.

He moved to  San Francisco in 1980 to attend Simpson Bible College.  He graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in Communications and Bible.  In 2006, he returned and received a Master’s In Ministry from Simpson University.  He has received an honorary Doctorate of Theology from Faith-Grant College in Birmingham, Alabama.

Terrence has enjoyed a rich broadcasting career in Christian radio as a radio personality on two San Francisco stations, KEAR(Family Radio); and he and Madeline co-hosted a radio program on station KEST for four years.   He has been the  youth pastor at two San Francisco Churches, Mt. Zion Baptist Church (8 years) and the Bread of Life Christian Center (4 years).  Jokingly he states that it a privilege to still be asked to preach at youth events and conferences.   Currently, he is the pastor of a brand new Christian and Missionary Alliance church plant, New Hope Church Community, in Vallejo, CA.  He is constantly in demand as a speaker for  churches, camps, conferences and colleges throughout the country.  His gift to communicate has also taken him overseas to Jerusalem, Canada, Haiti and South Africa.

Terrence has also worked in “Corporate America” as a Public Relations and Media relations for Pacific Gas and Electric Company and Chevron Corporation.  He has been the President of the Association of African American Churches since 2000.
